For those not knowing who I am, I mostly experiment with different techniques and art styles, my favorite of which being Anthropomorphic animals, stylized in that of popular American animation. I play around with the abstract a lot, and create a few technical drawings such as automobiles and aircraft. Most likely, you have stumbled across this page after having read my little webcomic, 'Carried by the Wind'. I do work commisions, but I'm a little slower than most artists because unlike most artist I work full time at a real job. If you have any kind of ideas for a piece, I'm more than willing to try. My mediums are mostly paper, pencil and ink, then scanned and modified in Photoshop or similar programs. The final work can be on paper or in digital form, however it is most fitting to your need. I also can use CafePress and have products made for your items as well, such as T-shirts, coffee mugs and mousepads. I have no set rate of pay, I judge it based on the amount of work involved. Please, contact me at Brent@Bowser.com for further information, requests or ideas.

Some of the images on this page are mirrored on the Vixen
Controlled Library and it's Mirror
Site. There are many good artists on there.. I insist you spend
some time browsing.
Newer Stuff:
For the better part of my life, I've been drawing things. Mostly in my earlier days, I sketched out cars and airplanes,
and even designed a few (later realized to be impractical) roller coasters. I never drew people, or even animate objects, for that matter. I had, however, always had a love of popular animated characters, some as old as early Disney and Warner Brothers, but often liking more current versions of the same style. One of my all time favorites is Pinky of the duo 'Pinky and the Brain'. However, until only a few years ago, this was simply an admiration. In the winter of 1998, I discovered a now popular webcomic known as Sabrina Online. At the time, webcomics were still a very new idea to me, and it never occurred to me that comics (outside of comic books) could contain a real story that carries from one to another. I also had learned a new term which has defined everything I've drawn since... Anthropomorphic. My first attempts were rather ugly. I think a few of those attempts might still be visible on the VCL, please don't judge. I began to try to refine my techniques, and began using Photoshop for coloring. My drawings have improved considerably, my coloring and shading still needs a bit of work... you can see for yourself.

Angry.jpg - A selection from my darker side. I made him shortly after reading the archives for David Hopkin's Jack and listening to Nine inch Nails for about five days straight.

Happy.jpg - A selection from my lighter side. This little fella isn't finished yet, but I felt a need to post him.

"Tangled Mess of Wires" © 2000 Brent Bowser to be used by Free Cycle with Permission
I love this one. Eric Zimmerman of Free Cycle told me that the band was working on making their first CD. I asked them if
they had any ideas for a cover design, and the answer was no. I told him I'd work on a few designs. While I was at work
one day, frustrated with some stubborn parts, I came up with this idea for a device completely tangled in wires, surrounded by things that would make it difficult to get to to repair. Kevin, the lead singer, said that he liked the relationship of the 4 red wires to the 4 members of the band, joining together to power the device in the center. I laughed, as it wasn't intentional. The band has since broken up... perhaps Eric will want me to do some work for his new band 'Push'.
This piece is in a constant state of work, I may never finish it. The concept of the slime weasel was a creation of a friend of mine, we discussed how he should look, and we're still unclear as to his real form. In my eyes, this is pretty close. I'll just
keep playing around with him. Slime Weasel concept © 2000 Ed Mansu, drawn by Brent Bowser on bristol and scanned into Photoshop 5.5, where the slime and background has been added digitally. When asked why a weasel covered in slime would be happy, the inevitable response came back "Slime makes him happy."
If you are interested in a commissioned work, please contact me. I also do web graphics as well as some web design, as can be seen by this and my other pages.
Just for Fun:
The Cast of Free Cycle as South Park characters:
Kevin, Brad, Eric and Wayne, respectively. They are no longer together, but it was fun while it lasted. I just felt simple one day so I whipped this up. Did I mention I love photoshop?
