#asm began several years ago when a few renegade members of the far more popular #asm, which had become flooded with morons and idiots, decided to create their own IRC server. LameNet was formed, creating a safehouse for the members of a dying realm of people who knew the Internet before popularity. These lucky few carryon about zany ideas, plans from day to day, and even an occasional bit of programming knowledge.
Mostly, the servers are used for conversation purposes, to bridge the gap between the members who live close to one and other to those who don't, such as Ohio Posse and Canada. LameNet is also used as a testing ground for various programming experiments, such as Pal and Buddy.
All in all, #asm is loads of fun, at least, for those who are regular members. For those who aren't, they may be in for a little suprise. Just ask sweetis.
The servers on LameNet include irc.garen.net, irc.dabizox.yi.org, and of course, irc.lagged.net
